3D dice

The dice tray, 3D rolls and their result, skins (themes and materials), sound, critical effects, and the Skin Studio to paint your own.

Roliando rolls real 3D dice: they physically fall on the table, everyone sees them, and you can dress them up with skins (themes and materials). This guide covers the dice tray, the result, skins, sound, and the Skin Studio for painting your own.

The dice tray

The floating Dice — quick roll button opens the tray:

  • Quantity (1–20) and Bonus (signed modifier).
  • One button per die: d2 (coin), d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, d100.
  • On the d20 you can pick Normal, Advantage, or Disadv.
  • The GM has a Rolls visible toggle (the whole table sees them) / Rolls hidden (only you; secret rolls never show up in the chat).

Any roll from a character sheet or from the combat bar also rolls in 3D.

The result

On desktop, the dice fall on the table and a draggable chip appears with the total and the breakdown; Roll again repeats the same roll. On mobile (or if your device doesn't support 3D) you get a wheel with the same result and a Roll again button.

In Settings → Appearance → How your dice look you pick the mode for this device: Automatic, 3D dice, 2D reel or Instant. With Instant there is no animation: the chip appears with the result already in and the 3D engine is never loaded (handy for the GM in long fights). Other people's rolls follow YOUR mode too: with Instant, as an already-resolved card.

The big number reads Total on a normal roll, or Successes on a dice-pool roll (like Lasers & Feelings), where the dice are counted one by one instead of added up.

Skins (themes and materials)

Your dice skin is chosen in Settings → Appearance → 3D Dice, and the whole table sees it when you roll. Two are free for everyone, Accent (your dice, in your accent color) and Obsidian, and there are many premium ones: metals (Chrome, Royal Gold, Steel), materials (Marble, Ice, Wood), artistic and elemental themes, and more. Premium skins require a plan with cosmetics.

Sound

Dice sound according to their material: metallic ones sound like metal, wood like wood, the coin (d2) has its own clink, and the rest sound like plastic. You can mute them from the sound settings.

Effects

  • Critical and fumble effects (settings): a golden flash on a natural 20 and a red shake on a 1 (d20 only).
  • Effect triggers: rules like "when a die rolls its maximum → particles". They come with Golden sparks on a natural 20, and there's also Confetti. You configure them in your dice settings.

The Skin Studio

To make your own skin, use the Skin Studio (at /dados/estudio), a full paint editor for the die:

  • Tools: Brush, Eraser, Bucket (fill), Eyedropper, Line, Rectangle, Ellipse, Gradient, Move, and Hand, with ready-made brushes (Soft, Hard, Spray, Chalk, Grunge, Lava, Neon, Light…).
  • Layers (paint, texture generators such as veins or scales, and images), with real relief and layers that emit light (neon).
  • The skin: body, number, and edge colors; Finish (metal, wood, glass, chrome, gold…), roll Effect (glow, fire, arcane), and even your own 3D model.
  • Per-die preview: paint each face, or the whole die net, and Test in 3D.
  • Save and use leaves it ready in your settings for the whole table. You can have up to 12 skins of your own. Painting and testing is free; saving and using it at the table requires Premium / Legend.

You can also Import from Dice So Nice a theme and save it as your own.

At the table

When someone rolls, everyone in the campaign sees the same dice roll, with the color and skin of whoever rolled, without reloading. Previews and the GM's secret rolls are not broadcast.
