Importing content

Bring Foundry worlds and scenes, JSON adventures, Dungeondraft packs and your roll tables — all into My Library, yours and organized.

Roliando brings in what you already have: Foundry worlds and scenes, adventures in JSON format, Dungeondraft asset packs and your own roll tables. Everything lands in your own My Library, organized.

You import your own files, from material you already own. Roliando does not host, distribute or link third-party content: there is no catalog to download from, only a reader for the file you upload, which stays in your private library. Sharing what you import with other people is your responsibility, and you must have the right to do so.

Foundry worlds and scenes

In My Library → Foundry worlds → Import a world (or the Scenes → Import from Foundry shortcut), the wizard brings in maps from a whole world or from individual scenes, with their walls, lights and grid. It recognizes:

FormatWhat it is
Foundry world (v11+)The packaged world from modern versions (LevelDB).
Foundry world (v10 or earlier)The old format (NeDB).
Individual .json scenesOne or more scenes exported separately, in a .zip together with their images. A single scene with its image also goes in through «Import map (Foundry/VTT)» in the map editor.

The wizard goes step by step: choose the file, select which scenes to import, run and done. You can give a name to the root folder where everything will land.

The walls of some modules come in image coordinates at a different scale; Roliando realigns them on import so they fit the map.

Adventures in JSON

Import adventure (JSON): choose your adventure-….json (and, if you have them, the adventures.json index and the images folder). You get the full text in chapters + the gallery of maps and art. See the Modules and adventures guide to read it and bring it to the table.

It is a reader for your own files: Roliando does not include any adventure or offer anywhere to download them from. It is for your own material and for what you have written or bought and have the right to use.

Dungeondraft packs

A .dungeondraft_pack file brings hundreds of props, floors, walls and patterns into your Map assets, ready for the editor. Roliando is asset-agnostic: use your own pack (we do not distribute copyrighted art). On import, you choose which groups you want and they are saved in your library.

Roll tables

Create a table with "New roll table": choose the die (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, d100, 2d6…) and add the results by range. The shortcut: paste a list (one result per line) and Roliando spreads the ranges automatically (handy for a homemade d100).

Tables live in the Tables section of the library and can be rolled from the table.

Where to find it

All the importers are in My Library, in the matching section (the Foundry VTT group for Foundry systems, modules and worlds, scenes and maps for Dungeondraft, adventures for the JSONs, tables for roll tables). What you import can be put in folders, sorted, shared and used in a campaign like anything else.
