Roliando compared with the other virtual tabletops

There are many ways to play RPGs online, and each tool bet on one of them: some on the tactical map, some on presentation, some on character sheets. Roliando came later, with the advantage of having seen them all, and brings together in a single table, in Spanish, what until now had to be split across several.

What is said here about the others was checked on their own official pages in September and October 2026; anything that could not be checked is marked as such. Roll20, Nivel20, Foundry Virtual Tabletop, Alchemy and Fantasy Grounds are trademarks of their owners and are named here only for comparison.

Why Roliando

Roliando brings the best of each to one table. The complete VTT that elsewhere has to be installed and served opens here in a browser tab. The careful presentation of the streaming-focused tools is on Legend GM, with a clean OBS feed and one link per element. It is free like the free ones, and lets you build things too. And it has the rules depth of the veterans with no installation manual in the way.

Running games is free and doesn't expire. No player cap and no licence to buy before you start: dynamic vision, fog of war, lights, floors, zones that fire traps and doors, and voice for twelve at once are all in the free plan. Legend GM adds the full table (the three-dimensional view, broadcast mode, teams and uncapped voice), and the whole table of a GM who has it gets to enjoy it. You pay to grow without limits and to put on a show; playing is free.

Creating is free to try too: one of each (a system, a module, an adventure, a table app, a map) at no cost and with no countdown. Whoever wants the caps lifted pays €5.99 a month; whoever does not stays, builds their system and plays all the same.

Built in Spanish from the start. Interface, compendium, documentation and support are written here, in Spanish and in English, so you play in your language without translating as you go.

Your own game, without writing a line of code. In most of them a custom system is programmed, and where it isn't, what you get is a sheet. Here it is built with fields, formulas and a visual editor, and what comes out is a whole playable system: combat, progression, equipment, bestiary and manual. You notice it most if what you play is not D&D.

Live and in writing, without splitting the group. The same campaign is played by voice on Friday and kept going in writing during the week, with the same world, the same sheets and the same maps. It all comes built in, with no modules to install or scripts to write: apps and puzzles presented to the players and solved together, map zones that fire traps and doors, and a studio for designing your own dice.

What we are not yet

We are young, and the catalogue shows it. The veterans have spent over a decade gathering extensions and third-party content; our Workshop is free and growing, but smaller. If your table depends on one very specific extension, ask us before moving.

We do not sell rulebooks. What is here is open-licence material, what the community publishes and whatever you build; if you want to buy an official book and open it ready to play, that happens elsewhere.

Also, Roliando is an online service. It saves you installing, updating and maintaining a server, but the table lives on the internet. What you create is yours and can be exported.
